Most AI quiz generators just spit out basic memory-recall questions. That’s the lazy way out. Here’s why we engineered our AI to push students much harder.
If you go to ChatGPT right now and say 'give me 5 questions about photosynthesis', it's probably going to ask you for the chemical formula, or where it happens in a plant.
Those aren't 'bad' questions, but they are incredibly basic. They sit right at the bottom of Bloom's Taxonomy: simple remembering and recall.
Large Language Models are basically highly advanced autocomplete engines. They love generating facts because facts are mathematically probable. If you don't aggressively steer an AI, it will default to asking basic memorization questions.
If a school buys an AI tool that only tests rote memory, they are literally moving backward. We're trying to build critical thinkers, not parrots.
For an educational AI to actually be worth paying for, you have to force it up the taxonomy ladder. It needs to generate stuff like:
**Understanding:** *Explain the role of chlorophyll like I'm a five-year-old.*
**Applying:** *If a plant is moved to a dark room, exactly how long until its glucose production drops, and why?*
**Evaluating:** *A guy on YouTube says pumping massive amounts of CO2 into a greenhouse will create super-plants. Why is he wrong?*
Getting an AI to reliably spit out high-level 'Evaluating' or 'Creating' questions isn't easy. It takes a ton of prompt engineering and strict constraints.
